Though only in their 20s, Electric River have been playing together for 7 years. Formed while at school, the band has honed their live act and song writing, gaining rave reviews and a growing fanbase.

Electric River have returned to the studio with Joe Fields (Amy Macdonald, Prodigy, Paul Weller) to complete an EP which includes the track 'Phony Radio' set to be released as a single, independently, via CD and digital download, on January 29th 2011.

Playing to packed houses in venues such as the Islingston Academy2, the Scala, and the legendary 100 club, to promote their self released album "Radio No Go," magazines such as Big Cheese and Rock Sound immediately drew comparisons between Electric River and The Clash, in a number of outstanding reviews. In a recent show at Brixton Jamm, Shane McGowan freshly off stage from his Christmas Pogues show, was so impressed by Electric River he joined them on stage for 2 numbers (Dirty Old Town and Fairy Tale of New York).

The band have great ability as songwriters crossing between the sound of The Cure, Friendly Fires, and of course their mutual heroes, The Clash; ensuring that more often than not, their songs have a political/social edge, and always, an integral, passionate energy within their music.
